He was a lecturer of the General Law Practice Institute of the Law Center of the University of the Philippines from 1972 to 1984; a participant in meetings in Vienna of Working Group of Experts in Arbitration, August 20-21, 2000, United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL); a participant in Dispute Resolution Symposium in Nagoya, Japan, February 22-23 and November 24-25, and National Reporter for the Philippines in an on-going 5-year group research and study for the revision and harmonization of arbitration laws and practice in Asia Pacific and Oceania under the auspices of the Meijo University Institute for Socioeconomic Dispute Studies, Nagoya, Japan; a participant, Alternative Dispute Resolution Executive Education Project (ADR EE) 2000 in Nagoya, Japan, February 24, 2000 and in Bangkok, Thailand, November 13-17, 2000 under the auspices of the APEC Business Management Network Center.

He was resource person or paper writer for domestic and international seminars and conferences on alternative dispute resolution; Submitted, among others, the following papers: “Enforcement of Arbitral Awards”, Symposium on Commercial Arbitration, UP Law Center (1981), “International Commercial Arbitration – the Philippine Perspective” (Philippines, 1994), “Arbitration in the Philippines” (Taiwan, 1995), “The Practice of Construction Arbitration” (UP Law Center, 1997), “Finality of Awards” – Colloqium on International Commercial Arbitration (Singapore, 1997), “Commercial Arbitration in the Philippines” (Hongkong, 1997), “Fundamentals of Arbitration” (Philippines, 1999), "Mediation as Mode of Dispute Settlement" (Asian Institute of Management, 1999), “Search for Alternative Modes of Dispute Settlement” (Philippines, 1999), “Arbitration and the Court” (Philippine Judicial Academy, 1999); “Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards” (International Bar Association, HongKong, Feb. 18, 2000); “Arbitration and Conciliation in the Philippines” (APEC ADR EEP, Bangkok, 2000); and a comparative study of national laws and arbitration rules relating to: the “Selection, Appointment, Challenge and Replacement of Arbitrators” and “Interim Relief” for the Nagoya Dispute Resolution Symposium on November 24, 2000; and “Debunking Myths about Philippine Arbitration”, Management Association of the Philippines (August 2001)

A.L.R. issue No. 6, December 2000; and "Critical Issues in the Laws and Practices of International Commercial Arbitration”.The Philippine Lawyers Review, Vol. XV, No. 2 (February) & No. 3 (March), 2001.

He authored the book, “Construction Arbitration” (Rex 1997); “The Law and Practice of Conciliation and Arbitration of Construction Disputes” (2001); and contributor of the Chapter on Arbitration in the Philippines in Law to be entitled “Arbitration in Asia” published by Butterworths edited by Mr. Michael Moser.

He is Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Inc. and Chairman of its Arbitration Commission; President Emeritus, Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc.; Secretary and Member, Board of Trustees, Foundation for the Enhancement of Legal Education; Accredited Arbitrator of the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission and Legal Counsel, Philippine Institute of Construction Arbitrators, Inc.

He was President, Legal Management Council of the Philippine (1983); President, FEU Law Alumni Association (1989); Chairman of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines National Committee on the Settlement of Disputes (1998); and Chairman of the Committee on Arbitration of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1987-1996).

He is active in the Philippines as arbitrator or counsel in commercial arbitration proceedings.
